Welcome. I’m glad that you’ve found the NAWBO KC website and are looking around to learn more about us. NAWBO, the National Association of Women Business Onwers, was formed 42 years ago as the first advocacy organization for all women business owners. That legacy is carried on today, nationally, and through over 60 local chapters across the United States, to work toward solutions on issues that impact our members like tax reform, workplace flexibility, government contracting and the workforce gap.
The Kansas City chapter strives to be a warm and welcoming spot for local women business owners (WBO). Our member companies range in employee size from one to dozens of employees, in annual revenues from right-next-to-$0 to multi-million and represent a wide variety of industries. While each company is different, our members all share a common goal – the desire to further improve their businesses and themselves. They understand the challenges that come with the title “Owner” because they’ve been there, are in the same spot you are or know they’ll be there soon. Our members share experience-based advice and support to empower one another to move forward boldly, confidently and wisely.
NAWBO KC meets each month on the 2nd Tuesday from 7:45 a.m. to 9 a.m. at the Women’s Business Center in Fairway, KS. If you’re considering membership or merely curious, try us out. We’ll be happy to see you!
