Two May Meetings for NAWBO KC

Crime Committed by Nerds

For small business owners, their business is their life line. Keeping it safe from fraud and white collar crimes is essential to keeping your employees safe as well as your family from financial ruin! Special Agent (SA) Kacie Laidacker and Forensic Accountant (FoA) Brian Koechner, are both assigned to the Complex Financial Crime Squad, and will let us know where we might be most vulnerable, what to look for to spot fraud, and how to protect yourself and your business!

President's Report

Happy May and Small Business Week!  NAWBO KC is on the rise with over a dozen new members during our Membership Drive in March and April.  Please welcome our new members at our Speaker event on May 23rd.  You don’t want to miss this one.  Who doesn’t want to learn more about White Collar Crime from the FBI themselves?.  Who else could better to tell us the outrageous, jaw dropping stories that we all need to know about?  Not to mention the event will be held at the elegant Hallbrook Country Club and lunch will be provided by the outstanding chefs there.  Please bring a guest with you!  All of us need to know about these types of crimes that we don’t think about so we can avoid them.

As many of you know the Board will be transitioning July 1st and we have an extortionary slate for the 2017-2018 year.  We are SUPER excited about the amount of interest this year in joining the Board. Be on the look-out for more information regarding the slate.

Our April roundtable event was a HUGE success with over 25 attendees.  Feel free to reach out if you have an issue that you need help with so that we can put you in the “Hot Seat”. Contact Kelly Wilson, Director of Programming, at kelly@weavegotchacovered.com

Thanks again for everyone’s help and interest to make NAWBO KC a remarkable success for women across the metro.

Brandy McCombs
NAWBO KC President

Welcome New Members

NAWBO KC is growing! Our March-April Membership Drive was a HUGE success.

We are happy to welcome 17 new members and 4 former (re-newing) members to NAWBO, Kansas City. We added more new members during the membership drive than any other "Small Chapter" in the NAWBO network. Let's keep growing NAWBO Kansas City - next goal is to move up to "Medium Chapter!"

You'll see a lot of new faces at our meetings so please say hello and get to know our new members and their businesses.
